====== Pootle ====== Pootle is a user-friendly web portal that makes the translation process so much simpler. It allows online translation, work assignment, gives statistics and allows easy volunteer contribution. You can run Pootle as an Internet server like these projects or run your own copy on an Intranet (for individual work, team work or Translate@thons). Pootle makes use of the powerful API of the Translate Toolkit. Together, these tools are part of our project to make translation easier and of higher quality by creating better tools and user-friendly, central information. The official Pootle server is at http://pootle.locamotion.org/ and you can find more information about this specific server here. ====== Quick Start ====== * Installation * Startup options * Features * Important Changes * toolkit:Contributing * developers:Reporting bugs * What's in a name? * Copyright ====== Use Cases ====== * Setting up a simple Pootle server * Assigning work * Working with version control and Pootle * Adding a terminology project * Working with Translation Memory * Advanced Pootle setup with Apache * Advanced Pootle setup with Nginx * Retrieving translator statistics from the server log ====== Guides ====== * users:User Guide (af, cs, de, es, eu, fa, fr, nl) The user guide is also included in live versions of Pootle. * Login and registration * Setting your options * Translating using Pootle * Searching * Using the checks * Site Administrator's Guide * Pootle setup, advanced configuration, etc * Admin Guide * Adding users, languages and projects * Developer Guide * FAQ, notes, ideas, etc. * Tips from the trench * Various tips and tricks ==== External documentation ==== These are external sources of documentation, often relevant to a specific Pootle server for one of the many projects that use Pootle.
